The Swiss artist Karin Hofer works mainly sculptural, paints and draws. She completed her multifaceted art studies for sculptors at the Edith Maryon Art School in Freiburg i. B. and wood became her favourite material. The Kunstwarenhaus Gallery has been presenting her wooden sculptures for more than eight years. Karin Hofer works on her works in an unconventional way, namely with the chainsaw and says about it:
"My sculptures are created from solid wood trunks, which I work on with the chainsaw. Depending on the intention I work details with carving tool and raspfiner. The human figure is usually the focus of my work. Besides the momentum of a moving or still body, the sculptures also make their their mood and emotions tangible. I let myself be inspired by everyday life inspiration. These experiences flow into the work process.
